Feature Pics: For Photographers, For Artists, For Buyers

Feature Pics is a full service image provider. Current stocks include fine arts, stock photography, environmental imagery, wildlife and domestic animals, isolated objects, food and health, hand-drawn illustrations, vector art, 3D renders, and photography for just about any business or advertising design. If you can’t find it here, one of the many talented artists is able to provide what you require.

For artists and photographers, Feature Pics offers something you won’t find on many “stock” type sites.

a 70% share of the selling price of the image; with the artist setting the sales price
the ability to choose image by image which licensing you’ll allow for that image
innovative licensing ideas
the ability to sell work as collections
forward thinking staff who often implement members ideas
the ability to sell rights managed images or royalty free
the option of selling an image exclusively at FP, image by image, not every image

These are just a few of the unique things that are drawing more photographers and graphic artists away from the micro-stock type sites to Feature Pics’ “mid-stock” thinking. If you currently sell your work through micro-stock sites and haven’t yet investigated this unique and unusual site, go have a look around.

One of the things I wanted to bring to the forefront is the staff and creators of Feature Pics. There are only a few sites I can think of where the staff have not only created a community feeling, but also make the contributors feel as though they are family – this group is very open to discussing your ideas, whether by email, or by participating in the forums, or even by telephone. They are friendly, helpful and a lot of fun to talk with. I asked the staff to share some personal information about themselves – things that most contributors might not know. Elena got together with the crew and gave me these little tidbits.

Meet the Staff at Feature Pics

Alexey – This guy provided the Design of this site. His philosophy has helped this site to become what it is. He helps Oksana to raise the kids:) and practices stock photography. If he has time – he designs houses.

Dmitry – Our chief “Critic”, the Creator of “Blog Use License”, Author of our press releases. His dream is to sail around the world, so sometimes he sneaks out to his sailing club in the SF Bay Area.

Me, Elena, I’m responsible for the code architecture and production. All bugs on the site are my fault. If I have a day off (yeah, right) – I am “learning” x-scape landscape, or on the boat, or helping with the airplane.

Greg – Great supporter, english editor, manager, and promoter. Greg is building his airplane when FeaturePics gives him a break.

Loren is nicknamed Kal. It seems necessary to note they are one and the same person. He is the Techie who keeps our hardware and servers up, running, and safe; handles all updates, hardware/software problems, and keeps the oil can full. In his and our spare time he leads our Company “hikes”.

Oksana – She knows things about the sites out there that no one else does. She knows different Photographer’s styles, and can usually spot a particular Author’s images. She keeps track of all uploads, emails, transactions, and all of the detail work necessary for the daily maintenance of a high energy system such as this is. Oksana is raising 2 Artists, 16 and 18 years old.

Early in Feature Pics development I joined the site. I immediately liked the professional look of the site, and easy rapport Elena and I developed. One of the things I did, both for myself and for the Feature Pics, was to design myself a logo to use on my t-shirts. It’s still one of my favourite designs, and I am still using it on my shirts.

It has been a long hard road and Gracey has been with us since the beginning. Much of her input is what you see at FeaturePics. And we are greatful.

Having watched FP for a long time, it has been a real experience watching it evolve and grow. I hope it stays around for a long time…..
